I, like most people under the age of 25, didn't own a checkbook until I rented my first apartment. Rent day, the dreaded time when you and your roommates all have to make the terrible walk to your landlords' dingy office to drop off your checks. The act of delivering a check seems to be more painful than the actual act of writing it.
If you are at all like me, you're looking for the fastest, most convenient way to do anything. Whether it's ordering a ride, buying a concert ticket, or getting food delivered, I want to be able to do it in less than 5 minutes, from my couch, on my phone. Why should paying my rent be any different? If I can order from any restaurant in my neighborhood or pay a friend for dinner last night- all from my phone, why can’t I pay my landlord while sitting on my couch? Truth be told, I’m also pretty forgetful, so most of the time this process involves scrambling to get to the bank to buy a paper check; write the paper check; looking for the address; then spending 20 minutes hustling to my landlords' office to drop it off, wasting a lot of my valuable time. It's inconvenient whatever rent day falls on due to work, limited office hours, and the inevitable side-splitting headache that will accompany me if it's on a weekend.
Anything that saves me from hassles by providing me with an easy to use, convenient way to pay, is O.K. with me. If my previous landlord used Rentroom, all I would’ve had to do is download an app, connect the bank account I use to pay rent, and click pay when rent was due. Now, I don't need to find a check, take the time to drop off rent, and I’m always on time because Rentroom sends me automatic rent reminders.
If you’re like me and want to save yourself from the time and hassle of dropping off rent checks, check out Rentroom and refer your landlord through the tenant referral program. Trust me, it will make your life easier.
